Privacy policy

Summit & Shore Labs, LLC (“Summit & Shore Labs,” “we,” “us” or “our”) is an independent software company that designs, builds and publishes its own apps. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle personal information on summitandshorelabs.com and when you contact us (together, the “Service”).

The short version: this website sets no cookies, runs no advertising, and doesn’t ask you for anything. We count visits with Cloudflare’s privacy-focused analytics, which doesn’t use cookies or follow you across sites. Otherwise, the only personal information we receive is what you choose to send us by email, plus the basic technical data that any website’s host processes to deliver its pages.

Our apps

Each of our apps describes the data it handles in its App Store privacy details. If an app handles personal information, we’ll publish an app-specific privacy notice, or add a section to this policy, before the app is released. Where an app has its own notice, that notice applies to the app.

Personal information we collect

Information you send us. When you email us, we receive your email address, your name if you include it, and whatever you write in your message and any attachments (“communications data”).

Technical data. Like every website, this site is delivered by servers that process basic information about each request, such as your IP address, browser type, the page requested and the time of the request. Our hosting and network provider, Cloudflare, processes this data to deliver the site and protect it from abuse. We don’t use this data to identify you, and we don’t combine it with other information.

Analytics data. We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to understand, in aggregate, how many people visit and which pages they read. When a page loads, a small script from Cloudflare reports the page address, the site that referred you, your browser and device type, page-load performance, and your approximate country, which is derived from your IP address. Cloudflare Web Analytics doesn’t use cookies or local storage, doesn’t fingerprint your device, and doesn’t track you across websites. We see only totals, such as page views and top referrers, never a record of an individual visitor.

We don’t collect information about you from other sources, such as data brokers or social media.

Cookies and tracking

This website does not use cookies, advertising pixels or cross-site tracking. The only third-party code it loads is the Cloudflare Web Analytics script described above. Our fonts and images are served from our own domain. If that ever changes, we’ll update this policy first.

We honor Global Privacy Control and “Do Not Track” signals. Because we don’t sell or share your information or track you across sites, there’s nothing further you need to opt out of. If you’d rather not be counted at all, a content blocker that blocks the Cloudflare Web Analytics script won’t affect how the site works.

How we use your personal information

We use the information described above to:

• reply to your messages and give you support for our apps;
• keep the website working, secure and protected from abuse;
• understand, in aggregate, how the website is used, so we can improve it;
• comply with the law, respond to lawful requests, and protect our rights, our users and the public.

We don’t use your information for marketing unless you ask us to keep you updated, and we don’t use it to train AI models.

How we share your personal information

We don’t sell your personal information, and we don’t share it for targeted advertising. We share it only with:

• Service providers that help us run the Service, under terms that limit how they may use it: Cloudflare, which hosts the website and provides its analytics, and Google Workspace, which handles our email.
• Professional advisors, such as lawyers and accountants, when they need it to advise us.
• Authorities and others, when we believe in good faith that the law requires it, or that it’s needed to protect our rights, your safety or the safety of others.
• A business transferee, if Summit & Shore Labs is ever involved in a merger, acquisition or sale of assets. Any acquirer would remain bound by this policy for information collected under it.

Retention

We keep emails for as long as we need them to help you and to keep reasonable business records, and we delete them when they’re no longer needed or when you ask us to, unless the law requires us to keep them. Technical and analytics data is held by Cloudflare under its own retention practices. The analytics we see are aggregate totals that don’t identify anyone.

Your choices and rights

Wherever you live, you can ask us to:

• tell you what personal information we have about you;
• give you a copy of it;
• correct it;
• delete it.

Some U.S. states, including California, give their residents these rights by law, along with the right to appeal a decision we make about a request. We extend them to everyone. To make a request, email us at the address below. We may need to confirm that the request comes from you, usually by replying to the email address in question. You can also ask someone to make a request on your behalf, though we may ask for proof that you’ve authorized them. We won’t treat you differently for exercising any of these rights.

We don’t sell personal information, share it for cross-context behavioral advertising, use it for profiling that produces significant effects, or knowingly collect sensitive personal information through this website.

Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards to protect personal information. The site is served only over HTTPS. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we can’t guarantee absolute security.

Children

This website is not directed to children under 13, and we don’t knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, contact us and we’ll delete it.

International visitors

We’re based in the United States, and our service providers may process information in the United States and other countries. If you visit or contact us from outside the U.S., your information will be handled in the U.S. as described in this policy.

Other websites

This site may link to other websites and services, such as the App Store. We aren’t responsible for their privacy practices, so please read their privacy policies.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we’ll post the new version here and update the date at the top. If a change is significant, we’ll make that clear on this page.
